Cyclists Kristina Vogel and Miriam Welte won gold in women's team sprint cycling, giving Germany one of its 10 gold medals at the London Olympics.

Miriam Welte: "It's our first day together to relax a bit and do women's staff like having our hair done, make-up... it's been a beauty day here at the Wella Studio and it's been great!"
Kristina Vogel: "London 2012 has been our first Olympic Games for the both of us and having won the Gold Medal is something absolutely fantastic! When you think about what's going to be in the next years, in the next Games, we are going to be starting with one Gold Medal... it's definitely quite amazing! I'm only 21 years old and it's good to feel that what you are doing is being already something great."
Miriam Welte: "We both don't know what's going on in Germany when we come back... but we guess that our families are preparing something in secret, as they don't stop asking us which day are we getting back to our country... (laughs). Track cycling is not so popular in Germany so we hope that our Gold Medal will contribute a little bit to get more attention from the media to our sport. Kristina and me make a good team and perhaps other girls and boys get to see what we have done and get motivated to think about competing in track cycling like us."
Kristina Vogel: "This 'Thank You Mom' is really amazing. Maybe now that we are Olympians we have different sponsors, but years ago when we began to compete, our moms and families always paid for everything, they travelled with us for the competitions, paid our first bikes and our first stuff... not to tell you about the moments I was very tired and thought about to stop to compete because I couldn't take it anymore... and my Mom was there to say 'hey, no, what you are doing is good, keep doing like this'... Now it's the best moment to say 'Thank You Mom'!!!"
Miriam Welte: "I completely agree with Cristina: it's good to give back to my Mom a little bit of everything she gave to me during so many years. Definitely without our moms we couldn't be there where we are now. It is important then to say 'Thank You' and support them as much as we can, as P&G is doing with this fabulous campaign. My Mom was here last Saturday and she was so happy to have her hair done at the Wella Studio."
